For branding, that means building visual identities that hold up across every context, from a logo to a full communication system.
BrandingFor editorial, it means giving structure and clarity to complex content: books, catalogues, reports, publications that are as functional as they are considered.
Editorial designFor product, it means designing how people actually use something. Websites, apps, tools, and platforms that work as well as they look, not just interfaces layered on top.

We’re Markos and Esther, the two people behind m—e studio, based in Berlin, working remotely and internationally by choice, not by circumstance.
Markos is from Chile, Esther from Spain. We’ve been working together for years, and between us we cover the full process: strategy, creative direction, visual systems, UX, editorial, and the conversations with clients that make all of it possible.
Neither of us started in graphic design. Markos trained in industrial design, spent years in a communications agency, and founded a furniture design studio before this. Esther trained as a mechanical engineer, with a master’s in design engineering, and worked on solar panel installations and automotive parts. That background shows up in how we work: we think about how things need to function before we think about how they should look.
Some of our client relationships go back the better part of a decade, not because we chase retainers, but because the work tends to keep growing once it starts.
No big team, no fancy office, no awards on the wall, just years of practice across disciplines, and the kind of commitment that doesn’t clock out. We used to go by markos-esther studio; the name is shorter now, but the way we work hasn’t changed.
