“Auf den Spuren der Familie Diek – Geschichten Schwarzer Menschen in Tempelhof-Schöneberg”
service editorial
For the Museum of Schöneberg-Tempelhof in Berlin, we designed the catalogue for the exhibition The History of the Diek Family: the history of Black people in the Schöneberg district. The publication brings together the texts and photographic material presented in the exhibition, focusing on the historical, social, and photographic content and translating the spatial narrative into a cohesive editorial object.
As with the exhibition’s communication materials previously designed by us, the book is built on the visual concept developed by Kollektiv >>kaboom<<, based on the lines of a city map. We carried this visual language forward to ensure continuity across all formats. These lines run throughout the publication, structuring the content, connecting stories, and guiding the reader through the historical narrative. The cover follows the established visual language of the project, featuring the exhibition’s key image.
Conceived as both a record and an extension of the exhibition, the book allows the stories presented at the Museum of Schöneberg-Tempelhof to endure beyond the exhibition space.
